Available types of releases:
- Model Release β consent of the person depicted to the commercial use of their image
- Minor Model Release β consent to use the image of a minor (child or teenager) in commercial projects.
- Property Release β permission to use private property, interiors, objects, and locations
For authors: why attach releases to content?
We know that creating content is creative work that takes time and effort.
It is important to us that your materials sell successfully and can be used as widely as possible.
If your content features recognizable people, private interiors, objects, or locations, attaching a release helps buyers feel confident and use the work in commercial projects without unnecessary questions.
Content with releases sells faster and more often because buyers get legal certainty and can use the materials in advertising and commercial projects without risk.
By attaching a release, you:
- confirm the legality of the shoot and the right to distribute it;
- protect yourself from possible claims from third parties;
- increase buyer confidence in your portfolio;
- open up access to wider commercial use of content;
- increase your chances of being included in premium collections and Extended licenses.
Materials without a release may be limited to editorial use only and are not permitted for advertising or commercial campaigns.
Content with releases is more likely to be included in commercial licenses and sells significantly better because the buyer does not need to seek additional permissions.
